Everyday Athlete is a methodology library and storytelling platform for athletes for life — the people who want to keep training, training intelligently, across every stage of life. Operated by Better Athlete. References to "we," "us," and "our" mean Better Athlete operating the Everyday Athlete™ service. Our primary contact for privacy questions is privacy@everydayathlete.com.

2. What we collect

We collect the information necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: name, email address, date of birth (used to determine COPPA status for minors), and parent/guardian contact if the athlete is a minor.
• Movement screening data: assessment inputs, readiness signals, and related metadata provided through the service.
• Operational metadata: timestamps, device type, IP address (used for security and aggregate analytics).
• Communications: messages you send to us through email or contact forms.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the movement screening, readiness, and training-intelligence service.
• Communicate with you about the service and respond to your inquiries.
• Improve the service through aggregate, de-identified analysis.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud, abuse, or harm.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With service providers who help us operate the service (cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics) under contract that requires them to protect your information.
• With your designated providers (coach, trainer, clinician) where you have explicitly consented.
• If required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
• In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, financing) with notice to you.

5. Children's privacy (COPPA)

If we collect personal information from a child under 13, we obtain verifiable parental consent before doing so. Parents may review, request deletion of, or refuse to permit further collection of their child's information by emailing privacy@everydayathlete.com.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other US states with applicable privacy law; EU/UK residents under GDPR), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your personal information.
• Withdraw consent for processing.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Receive a copy of your information in portable format.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service and to satisfy legal and audit obligations. When you delete your account, we anonymize identifying information; aggregate, de-identified data may be retained for research and methodology development purposes.

8. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to maintain protections proportional to the sensitivity of the data.

9. International transfers

Everyday Athlete operates from the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections for any cross-border transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
